US honours Delhi Braveheart with Women of Courage award

“Her bravery inspired millions of women and men to come together with a simple message: No more. No more looking the other way when gender-based violence happens. No more stigma against victims or survivors,” US Secretary of State, John Kerry, said at a State Department function held yesterday to honour women from across the globe with the prestigious award.

Bharat Darshan

Traveling in Sleeper Class on Mandore Express (Old Delhi to Jodhpur).

It’s a whole new experience in life. Seeing the common man in India and eavesdropping on their stories.
I wonder what their life story is like, where are they coming from and what their destination is?

The carriage is dark with an abundance of bags all around.

Where as on one end there’s a group of people playing the desi card game ‘seep’, there’s another group of males on the other end talking about girls.

While this is fun, it is only temporary. Life in India would be much harder than it seems. As I stand here, and soak in all of the above, I’m also thinking about all the hard work that my parents have put in to make my life better. Love them!

and the journey continues…
